Mountain Road through a Military Zone in Switzerland Driving the scenic Route de l’Hongrin.
The road linking La Lécherette to Corbeyrier on the southern slope of Lac de l’Hongrin is located in the military zone of “Petit Hongrin”. Access is free on weekends from April to November. However, from Monday to Friday the road is closed subject to the shooting notices that you can consult below.
This same road takes the Agites tunnel above Luan. The tunnel is a single-lane tunnel and has timetables to be respected during weekends and public holidays.

Take the Wine Trail to experience and understand the world of vines. This six-kilometre path links the two exhibition spaces of the Wine Museum. It takes you between vines and groves, to discover wine-growing villages and wine-making techniques. 80 explanatory panels mark the route. They tell the story of the life of the vine, but also that of the landscapes and people.

Stretching over 32 hectares, the Pouta-Fontana nature reserve forms the largest wetland area in Valais. It consists of numerous water bodies bordered by reed beds, canals, marshes, and riparian forests. About 190 bird species have been observed in the reserve, and it remains the main breeding ground for beavers in Valais.

Try this 5.3-km circular trail near Les Haudères, Valais. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 58 min to complete. This trail is great for running and walking, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-lead in some areas.
