The Krimml Waterfalls, with approximately 400.000 visitors per year, are one of Austria’s top 10 most visited attractions, and the fifth highest waterfalls in the world. An average of 5.6 m³ of water per second plummets into the valley over the three stages of falls, with an entire impressive waterfall drop of 380 meters.

The trail to the Winnebachseehütte is a beautiful lonely tour, partly steep and stony but otherwise easily. The hut is located north on Gries, in the Sulztal, in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol in Austria. A crystal clear mountain lake is nestled next to the hut. At a height of 2362 meters you can enjoy the views of the magnificent mountains and a majestic waterfall.

Kaunerberger Wasserweg – The Gallrutt Tunnel

The “Kaunerberger Wasserweg” has been assuring the irrigation of fields, orchards and gardens at Kauns and Kaunerberg for over 60 years now. The 12 kilometer long irrigation system fetches water from the Gallrutt glacier and leads it via a channel and two tunnels along the mountain slope towards the village Kaunerberg. This hiking trail follows a part of this channel system, including passing the almost 1000 meter long Gallrutt tunnel.

The Taschachhaus is situated at the end of the Pitztal, in Tyrol. As a training base from the German Alpine Club (in german DAV), the hut offers ideal conditions for high alpine tours, ice routes, basic and advanced training, expedition preparations but also very beautiful single and multi-day hikes in an impressive landscape.

From Zaunhof to the Ludwigsburger hütte

Setting out from the car park in Zaunhof/Grüble (St. Leonhard) at the Ludwigsburger Hütte freight lift take either the well signposted but steeper path (partly with stairs) or walk along the goods track to the Ludwigsburger Hütte at 1935 meter. The very pretty location of the hut offers views of the Hohe Geige, the glacier, the Rofele Wand and the Venet. Return the same way to Zaunhof.
