1. Introduction

The trail starts at the free car park near the lake ‘Lac de mont d’Orge’. From there climbe up to the top of Mont d’Orge, where you will find the statue Notre Dame and the ruin of the Montorge castle. From this point you experience the stunning view over the Rhone valley. The main focus point for sure is the city of Sion with the basilique de Valère and the ruin of Tourbillon castle dominating the view.

After the descent you walk along a part of the bisse de Mont d’Orge.
