1. Introduction

This 10 km out and back trail near Arolla is generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3.30 hours to complete. A popular trail for birding, hiking and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best time to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

First the path runs quietly up through a larch forest and then contiues in sharp loops. The moment you come out of the forest and the path is open in front of you, you have reached your destination. Near the lake is a little refreshment bar called “La buvette du Lac Bleu”. There is als a restaurant near the parking lot in La Gouille

One side of the lake has a very nice waterfall! You can easily walk around the lake and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The lake looks attractive to swim but is really very cold. You can just take off your shoes for paddling. That is also sufficient cooling.
