Mysterious Gorges of Tête Noire

Mysterious Gorges of Tête Noire

Departing from the Tête-Noire car park, take the path towards Trouléro then join the Mysterious Gorges via the 120-metre footbridge overlooking the river in order to access the bottom of the gorge from where you can admire the mysterious and impressive cave with Nymphs.
The loop allows you to return to the car park by following a winding path or return on your feet towards Trouuléro.

A route connects Finhaut to the Mysterious Gorges.

The Emosson dam

The Emosson dam

With its 225 million m3 of water, Lake Emosson is the 2nd largest artificial reservoir in Switzerland!

The Emosson dam, built between 1969 and 1973, is the keystone of a major hydroelectric complex straddling Switzerland and France, at the Col de la Gueulaz. Two hydroelectric power stations provide almost 3% of the electricity produced in Switzerland. The dizzying height of 180m of the wall guarantees you great thrills.

OLD EMOSSON GEOLOGICAL TRAIL
Fingerprints
All along the trail, you will find footprints dating back more than 240 million years. The scientific interest of the site is still present and analyzes are still being carried out to determine their exact origins.

In fact, the age of the land is even older than the time of the dinosaurs. The footprints could belong to primitive reptiles: the ancestors of dinosaurs. The footprints are generally visible from mid-July.

Gorges of Dailley

Gorges of Dailley
